About the role
As part of Aira’s major factory expansion, we are looking for a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer with a strong Project Management track record and deep knowledge of automation to join our PMO & Engineering Team.
This role is focused on expanding and optimizing our in-house manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on automation and process integration. You will take technical ownership for manufacturing engineering activities across critical production areas.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience in greenfield or brownfield manufacturing projects, combined with the ability to design, implement, and scale automated solutions in a high-mix, high-efficiency production environment.

- Sheet metal production and punching/forming lines
- Copper pipe bending and forming
- Stainless steel tank fabrication
- Soldering and brazing (open flame and induction)
This is Wroclaw based B2B consultant role.
What are the responsibilities?
- Lead the design, specification, and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and expanding in-house production lines
- Develop automation concepts and drive implementation of solutions such as robotic material handling, automated assembly cells, brazing automation, and in-line inspection systems
- Define and optimize equipment layouts, tooling, workstations, and automation interfaces to maximize space, flow, and productivity
- Take full responsibility for equipment selection, technical specifications, RFQ process, supplier negotiations, and installation
- Collaborate with automation partners and integrators to implement machine vision, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment into production
- Lead cross-functional reviews to ensure alignment on safety, ergonomics, quality, and OEE targets for each line
- Ensure seamless integration with MES, SCADA, and ERP (e.g., D365) systems for traceability, data capture, and real-time performance monitoring
- Develop and maintain full process documentation, including FMEAs, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Plan and manage timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation within the manufacturing engineering scope
- Drive structured ramp-up and handover to operations, ensuring high equipment availability and stability from day one
- Support training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement post-installation
What you’ll bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, with strong focus on automation in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments (e.g. HVAC, automotive, appliances, or metals)
- Hands-on experience in the design and launch of automated production lines, including integration of robotics, sensors, PLCs, and machine vision systems
- Deep technical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, copper pipe bending, tank production, and brazing processes (open flame and induction)
- Proven leadership in greenfield or brownfield projects, managing technical workstreams and supplier coordination
- Familiarity with industrial automation standards, control systems, and HMI interfaces
- Strong experience with project budgeting (CAPEX), planning, and supplier management
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD tools for layout and process design
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement methods
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Polish is highly desirable. Additional language skills are considered an asset

- Data-driven engineering using Excel, Power BI, and process simulation tools
Project & Program Management
- End-to-end project leadership in engineering and automation scope
- Supplier RFQ, technical evaluation, and installation oversight
- Budget ownership and ROI analysis
- Risk management and escalation handling
- Effective communication through documentation and stakeholder reporting (e.g., PowerPoint)
- PMP certification (or equivalent) is a strong plus
