Role Overview
As a Clean Energy Service Technician (Electrician), you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional aftercare to Aira customers throughout the lifetime of their clean energy system.
Working within our Service & Repair team, you will diagnose, service, maintain and repair electrical and renewable energy systems across our portfolio, including air source heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage solutions. You will combine advanced electrical expertise with a customer-first approach, ensuring every visit leaves our customers with confidence that their system is operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
Where required, you will also support installation teams with specialist electrical expertise and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products, processes and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Service, Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose, repair and maintain Aira clean energy systems, including Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV and Battery Storage systems.
Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise product performance and reliability.
Diagnose electrical, controls and system faults using industry-leading diagnostic techniques and equipment.
Complete repairs safely, efficiently and in accordance with Aira standards and manufacturer guidance.
Perform commissioning checks, functional testing and system verification following repairs or maintenance.
Complete electrical inspections and testing where required, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
Electrical Excellence
Carry out electrical fault finding across domestic renewable energy installations.
Install, replace or repair electrical components including:
Consumer Units (where required)
Isolators
Electrical protection devices
Heating and energy controls
Power supplies
Cabling and associated wiring
Ensure all electrical work complies with BS7671 (18th Edition), industry regulations and legislative requirements.
Produce accurate certification and testing records where applicable.
Safety & Quality
Work safely and efficiently at all times.
Follow all Aira Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturer guidance and industry best practice.
Ensure all tools, equipment and company vehicles remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
Maintain the highest standards of workmanship and quality.
Escalate technical concerns where additional engineering support is required.
What you need to have
Essential
Level 3 Electrical Qualification (or equivalent).
City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Experience working within domestic electrical installations.
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
Experience working with Air Source Heat Pumps.
Experience with Solar PV systems.
Experience with Battery Storage systems.
Experience of domestic heating controls and renewable technologies.
Previous service and maintenance experience within the renewable energy sector.
