Aira, founded in 2022, is leading the clean energy revolution with over 1,000 employees and counting. We provide modern clean energy solutions for homes, including solar power, battery storage, and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland and our headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, we are expanding rapidly across Europe.

In Helsingborg, where this role is based, we have established a brand-new development center and with hubs in the UK, Germany, and Italy, Aira is on track to bring clean energy technology to 5 million homes by 2034.

About the role 

As Head of Validation & Technology Assurance, you’ll take a key leadership role in ensuring that our products are not only high performing, but also safe, reliable and compliant with the highest standards.

This is a senior position where you will lead a team of engineers across multiple sites, take full ownership of our validation and prototyping strategy, and ensure a secure and structured working environment. You’ll combine your technical expertise with strong leadership to build world-class testing operations that enable fast, high-quality product development.

You will be involved throughout the entire product lifetime, from lab testing and compliance during development to field performance and support of customer units. A key aspect of your role will be cross-functional collaboration, working closely with the hardware R&D team in Helsingborg as well as our customer service teams in our markets.

Your work will directly impact how millions of European homes experience clean, efficient energy.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team.

• Develop and implement validation strategies and test plans that ensure our products meet and exceed internal and external standards.

• Own and manage advanced lab environments, including climate chambers, mechanical test rigs, and prototype workshops.

• Ensure safety across all validation operations, championing a strong safety-first culture.

• Collaborate closely with hardware, product, quality and customer support teams to challenge results and accelerate improvements.

• Drive technical excellence by building robust testing processes that support rapid iteration and long-term reliability.

You will also be responsible for:

• Leading our 3rd line technical support, acting as a key technical contact for field teams and market operations.

• Driving root cause analysis for issues discovered during testing or on live units in the field.

• Ensuring compliance and regulatory alignment, including certifications and industry standards.

What you bring:

• A degree in engineering, physics, energy systems, or a similar technical field.

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing validation or test functions.

• A strong background in product verification, validation and lab operations – preferably in HVAC, cooling, heat pump technologies or energy solutions.

• Familiarity with compliance, safety procedures and test equipment.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills – you’re structured, hands-on and people-focused.

• A passion for building great products in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.
